The Importance of Posture for Overall Health and Well-Being

In today's society, the focus on maintaining good posture is increasing, and for good reason. Our modern lifestyle and work conditions have caused a rapid decline in our posture, leading to a variety of physical health issues. Even without any obvious injury or starting point, many people experience slow and persistent aches and pains.

Research reveals that posture is at the root of most people's pain and mechanical health concerns. The Journal of Pain Management sums it up perfectly: "Posture affects every physiological function, from breathing to spinal pain, headache, mood, blood pressure, pulse, and lung capacity."

In simple terms, posture is the most vital component in how our bodies move and feel. It's important to understand that posture is not about trying to hold ourselves up with muscles, but rather about how our bodies naturally position themselves when muscles are relaxed.

Many therapies focus on improving posture through stretches and strengthening exercises, but they often yield mixed results and fail to bring about long-term changes to body shape and balance. This is because they overlook the crucial factor of structural alignment.

Proper posture is determined by the alignment of our bones. When our bony structure is well-balanced, maintaining an upright and balanced position requires minimal effort, resulting in optimal movement and well-being for the entire body.

Examples of poor posture include forward head carriage, rolled or drooping shoulders, a rounded upper body, a flat back, and a swayed or hyperlordotic lower back.

Numerous factors contribute to posture deterioration, including sitting and sleeping positions, footwear choices, trauma, and emotional stress.

Poor posture can lead to various associated issues such as neck and back pain, headaches, TMJ problems, shoulder issues, hip and knee pain, degenerative changes, breathing difficulties, and difficulty concentrating.

Advanced Bio-Structural Correction™ (ABC™) is a hands-on therapy that effectively corrects spinal alignment and posture. It takes a holistic approach, considering the body as a whole rather than focusing on individual parts. By addressing the body's overall functioning, ABC™ identifies and corrects root issues while preventing future problems.

By correcting structural alignment from top to bottom, ABC™ alleviates pressure on muscles, ligaments, discs, and nerves in the back, allowing the body to naturally heal. This therapy involves spinal stretches, precise adjustments, and manipulation of the spine, ribs, and lower extremities, resulting in consistent and predictable improvements in posture.

Through Advanced Bio-Structural Correction™, you can experience real and immediate changes in posture. ABC™ is a holistic healthcare system that not only improves symptoms but enhances overall body function and well-being. By improving posture with this therapy, individuals often notice easier breathing, mental clarity, and a sense of balance in the body.

POSTURE AND NERVOUS SYSTEM FUNCTION:

The nervous system is our communication pathway between our body and brain.

It helps to regulate and control every action in our body. It is extremely important that our nervous system is working at its optimum if we want to function well and live a healthy life.

As our structural system (mostly skull and spine) encloses and protects our nervous system, it can have a direct influence on how well our brain, spinal cord and its peripheral nerves are functioning.

If the alignment of the bones in our structural system, especially our spine start to lose their ideal shape or become dysfunctional it can impact the nervous system adversely.

By improving spinal alignment and posture, pressure and tension can come off your nervous system. In turn, this helps your body to function and feel its best while reducing the likelihood of encountering injuries and greater problems in the future.
